Hey
,
A quick update my friend.
Apparently the link to the hurricane article was broken, thanks to Sherms for quickly catching it.
Not sure what happened there, but please accept my apologies for that.
So here it is my friend:
Thanks for your understanding. Have a great rest of the day!
Regards,
WG

Hey , happiest of Sundays to you and yours again my friend!
Last Tuesday we got a heavy downpour of rain here, one of the heaviest in a long time! In fact at one point I started to wonder if it would stop!
But then it dawned on me that that it was June 1, which means it is the beginning of the hurricane season!
And so, I promised myself to share this article with you and all my subscribers today.
It was written by one of my associates but I thought it could not be more timely to share it today.
The title...
WHEN IS HURRICANE SEASON IN JAMAICA?
Not only does it speak about the hurricane season (June to November) and what to expect, it also captured some critical hurricane preparedness tips.
Please note, and share!
After all, hurricanes affect us in some shape or form if and when they do hit.
And incidentally, tomorrow, June 7th, we'll also celebrate, or should I say commemorate, the anniversary of the most dreadful earthquake that shook Jamaica, Port Royal in particular, in 1692!
They've been producing one of Jamaica's best rums for over 268 years!
In this exclusive video, I explore this historic sugarcane and rum production factory with Steve.
Not only will you learn about its history and what makes it unique, you'll get an insight into how they make their rums - from the sugar cane in the field, to the much sought after spirit in your cup!
Here's the video (embedded below)
Please be sure to share a comment. And if you like it, please share it with someone, the more the merrier.
Featured Jamaican Product
This week's highlight is a bit unusual.
And why?
Because is not a packaged 'product' per se, although it could easily be!
It is Jamaica's SouthCoast - we call it!
It (literally) is the south of the island, stretching from Negril (almost) to Clarendon!
But many of us consider it still a hidden attraction as only a fraction of tourists that visit Jamaica ever visit that side.
And there is so much to experience there!
A few of the must mentions include...
- The Roaring River (and Cave) Attraction (I spoke about last week)
- The Black River Safari
- Manchester Golf Club
- The Pelican Bar
- The Appleton Estate
- The YS Falls
- Mineral Spas
- Lovers Leap
- The Accompong Maroons, and also
- The Shrimp (@Middle Quarters) and Fried Fish (@Border)
Bet you didn't know (or realize it had so much)?
Oh yes, I actually have an article shedding some insight its offerings here:
Do check it out, and share!
Last Friday my wife and I celebrated our 10 year anniversary!
And so I use this medium to give her an exclusive shout out and say thanks for her love, support and commitment.
Marriages are not easy but with a caring and understanding partner, anchored in Christ, great things can happen!
By the way, I might just have a little token for you re: this, so stay tuned :-)
And while we are on Port Royal,
Did you know...
... that Port Royal here in Jamaica was once known as the wickedest city on earth!
It was then a haven for pirates but as I indicated above, was devastated by an earthquake on June 7, 1692!
This too, is yet another interesting fact from my 101 Intriguing Facts About Jamaica book.
United States (US)-based Frontier Airlines made its inaugural flight from Miami, Florida, to the Sangster International Airport in Montego Bay, St. James, on Friday, May 28.
The flight had 160 passengers and a six-member flight crew comprising two pilots and four flight attendants, who made the one hour and 13-minute historic journey from the US to Jamaica.
Frontier Airlines reported that the newly established service will entail three weekly flights to Jamaica.
And that's it for today my friend, remember, please continue to stay #SafeAndSane.
