Happy Easter to you and yours !
Its the season when we look forward to the delicious bun and cheese, and lots of it.
By the way, on Thursday it was almost panic in my neck of the woods as none of the local supermarkets had any bun! And I heard it was the case in several places across the country!
But that is testament to the major love and demand for bun and cheese here!
But question, have you ever wondered why Jamaicans eat bun and cheese at Easter?
My associate Kesha, dug into the history books to find out why.
... turned out to be quite interesting.
Here's what she found!
Now take a quick read and share a comment to let me know what you think.
And that brings me to the next point, the video, which also is about, yes, Easter Bun!
If you didn't get your Jamaican Easter Bun as yet, or depending on where you live, it ran out on you, no fuss, I have a treat for you!
In this video below, I feature one of the prominent names in the baking business on this side of the island, Ms. Ina!
Ms. Ina has over 40 years of baking under her belt, so much so that her name is synonymous with Easter Buns here!
I had the privilege, not only to meet with her, but to see her make the original, traditional Jamaican Easter Bun!
And yes, I have it in this video (below)!
Learn and enjoy!
Please be sure to share a comment. And if you like it, please share it with someone, the more the merrier.

Today I take my hat off and recognize a young man, Allesandro Peters!
This young man, even while in University, has helped me tremendously with my desktop publishing tasks, including the final design of my business logo!
Today he is graduated and has his own graphic design business, http://alexpetersdesigns.com/.
I'm so proud of him - especially in these times of challenges with young men.
Congrats paps, continue to shine!
Did you know...
... that a gene from the Jamaican click beetle, locally called “Peeny-Walley”, is patented abroad and use for bioluminescence imaging in oncology, genetics and environmental sciences?
This, according to a newsletter from the University of the West Indies, Mona in April 2004.
This too, is yet another interesting fact from my 101 Intriguing Facts About Jamaica book.
Thought I'd let you know that amidst the COVID-19 pandemic, Jamaica, on March 23rd, copped a major international award for its tourism response to the worldwide pandemic.
According to the Ministry of Tourism, The Jamaica Tourist Board (JTB) was recognized by the Hospitality Sales & Marketing Association International (HSMAI) with a Best Practice Gold Adrian Award for public relations excellence in Crisis Communications/Management!
The Adrian Award represents the largest and most prestigious global travel marketing competition.
