Hi ,
A quick update my friend.
Did you notice that the link I sent you below about the weather was actually pointing to another article? Sorry about that my friend.
Here is the corrected link:
Thanks to Arriel for pointing it out quickly for me.
Blessings!

Hi ,
Happy Sunday to you and yours again my friend.
First I must say a HUGE thanks for all the love and support I received over last week. I've gotten no less than 100 (if not way more) personal responses, encouraging me and sharing thoughts and best wishes.
As you recall, I announced then that I lost a great friend in the hospital recently and was unable to complete the last mailing because of how it affected me.
And so I'm better know... God has been good.
The thoughts still lingers but I think we are in the acceptance stage and all will be well.
On a brighter note though, I realized there are a number of questions about the weather and climate of Jamaica at this time of year (yes many persons are looking to come here again).
And so, for today's feature, I'll share a quite insightful article I have about the weather in Jamaica with you, and encourage you share as well.
Here is the link:
In addition to the typical weather you can expect, it also highlights the daily average temperatures as well as expected rainfall (by month).
Be sure to take a read.
Remember to also check out my blog here for other new articles.
This video, essentially a fun virtual tour of Jamaica, captures highlights of my recent online radio interview with Garry on his program (The Pirate Radio Show) on Bleat Network out of Chicago in the USA.
We discussed, among other things, Jamaica's food, culture and even some folklore! It's fantastic and fun learning on Jamaica - you'll like it!
Please be sure to share a comment. And if you like it, please share it with someone, the more the merrier.
Featured Jamaican Product
Sometime ago I placed a widget on my website. I asked the question,
'What makes Jamaica special?"
I had a drop down list showing...
- Reggae Music
- Sports (Athletics, Boxing etc)
- Blue Mountain Coffee
- Beaches
- People
- Waterfalls
- Food (Jerk, Patties etc)
- etc.
But you know what the overwhelming majority of persons/ respondents say?
They say its, THE PEOPLE.
And despite our social troubles, very few can disagree?
My associate, Arriel, wrote a quite insightful article on this recently, take a look at it when you get a chance.
In the video, featured above, I took Garry, the radio broadcaster, on what I call a virtual tour of Jamaica, but the person behind the scene that made it happen was his producer, Natasha.
Today I'd like to recognize her for reaching out to me and following up with me to ensure that the interview took place.
Thank her also for providing a copy of the interview, and very timely... very sweet and kind of her.
Thanks again Nats!
Did you know...
... that Jamaicans first spoke to their relatives overseas (US, England, Canada, Mexico and Cuba) by telephone in 1936?
This came as a result of the inauguration of the radio-telephone service.
This too, is yet another interesting fact from my 101 Intriguing Facts About Jamaica book.
Even while we struggle with this Covid pandemic, there are several Jamaicans and Jamaican companies soaring.
One is the Jakes Hotel.
Jakes Hotel, in Treasure Beach, St. Elizabeth, was recently listed among the top family vacation spots globally by luxury and lifestyle travel magazine, Condé Nast Traveller, and also named among the best boutique hotels in the Caribbean by the Daily Telegraph.
The hotel was also recently named among the top nine family vacation spots worldwide by Condé Nast, which said its “winsome draw comes from the cheery painted houses decorated with bright fabrics and seashells.”
The workers at the hotel were also described as “gorgeous staff who are not just friendly but also fascinating, telling stories about the island’s sporting history.”
Meanwhile, British newspaper the Daily Telegraph also listed Jakes Hotel as one of the five best boutique bolt-holes in the Caribbean. The newspaper described the hotel as an “offbeat hideaway” that has a “lovely, raffish charm and a cool vibe on Treasure Beach.”
Big up Jakes!
