Happy Sunday to you and yours again !
You know how passionate Jamaicans are about their country, especially when living outside the country, right?
It's funny as many of them, when home, don't show (or share) that level of enthusiasm.
Have you ever wondered why?
Well my associate, Serene, wrote a quite interesting piece on this; I thought I'd share it with you today.
Lol. Do you agree? Is that what you see/ experience on the ground?
I'm curious to hear.
And yes, that's our featured article for this week.
On Sunday we took a family trip to the country to have a little cookout. It is something we typically do on yearend (Christmas time) but we weren't able last time because of the pandemic.
Well, we calculated the risks and went down to meetup with the rest of the family. We had an amazing time - and yes the food was lovely; from fried chicken and rice and peas to steam fish and steam roast conch, we had it all.
I took some clips and put it together in this video to share with you.
Enjoy.
Please be sure to share a comment. And if you like it, please share it with someone, the more the merrier.

Did you know that bammy, as we know it, is indigenous to Jamaica?
Bammy is a traditional Jamaican cassava flatbread descended from the simple flatbread eaten by the Tainos, Jamaica's original inhabitants.
Today, it is produced in many rural communities and sold in stores and by street vendors in Jamaica.
It is also in big demand by Jamaicans overseas and persons in the diaspora, who can't seem to get enough of it.
Two weeks ago I mentioned that my computer went down, remember?
Well, my former boss and mentor, Art, saw the note and reached out to me. Long story short, he purchased a 4 terabyte external hardrive for me!
I know you'll be reading this sometime boss, so again, THANK YOU.
Did you know...
... that Jamaica is the 3rd largest of 51 inhabited islands in the Caribbean?
Only Cuba and Hispaniola are bigger.
This though is a giveaway, wouldn't you say? You can get a profile of Jamaica here: http://www.my-island-jamaica.com/facts_about_jamaica.html
This too, is yet another interesting fact from my 101 Intriguing Facts About Jamaica book.
Did you hear the news that, along with the extension of suspension of travel to and from the UK (until end of February), the Canadian government has also placed travel bans to the Caribbean?
Oh yeah, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau announced that as of Sunday, January 31, all Canadian airlines with flights to the region and Mexico will suspend those routes until April 30.
The airlines include Air Canada, Westjet, Sunwing and Air Transat.
I'm really a tough time my friend...
