Happy Sunday to you and yours again !
Well, if Covid19 was not enough, here comes, yes, the hurricane season!
In truth and in fact though, it started on June 1 and will last until the end of November.
And although only a small fraction of predicted (or developed) hurricanes affect Jamaica, the potential impact of it warrants adequate preparation every year - and this year, albeit Covid19, is no different.
As I write, I hear a few thunders rolling and I figured that it could not be a better time to remind you about this.
But even better, my associate has prepared an extremely insightful article, capturing the key preparation tips and cautions.
Please be sure to read and share.
And now, my...
I call this one, 'Inspired By Adversity'!
Here is Sasha-Lynn, a university student, who, in an attempt to help her younger sibling financially in her illness, decided that she needs to do something different
And now, a few months later, she has a thriving home based business!
It was inspiring to me, and I figure you'll appreciate it too.
You may also watch it in the frame below.
Featured Jamaican Product
It is one of the products that we inherited here; this one from the east, from India - wanna guess?
Oh yes, it's Curry Powder!
But as Jamaicans, as we inevitably always perfect it!
And even if not, we certainly made it our own, using our indigenous Jamaican spices!
Today authentic Jamaican curry is like 'hot bread' - people can't get enough of it :-)
And so, although, I already featured Mr. Mendez in this video making it the traditional way, I wanted to highlight Jamaican curry in a more intentional way today!
This week's recognition goes out to Dale Ann Gilliam, another of my ardent subscribers!
Dale Ann not only took the time to show deep appreciation for my work, she gave me an insight into what is happening in her neck of the woods (Tulsa,OK) with Covid19. She is so looking forward to coming back to Jamaica when the systems normalize fully.
And so, Dale Ann, if you are reading this my friend, hang tight until we see each other, this too shall pass.
Did you know...
...that Jamaica was the first country in the Western world to construct a railway, even before the United States! This was only 18 years after Britain!
Well, now you know!
Is there a particular topic you'd like to see me cover, in article or via video ?
I'd be happy to add it to my schedule within the next 2 months - just hit reply and let me know!
By the way, the mango walk video was a hit!
Have you seen it already?
And finally, what do you make of this interview with Sasha-Lynn?
Be sure to drop me a comment here (or on the video itself) my friend.
In the meantime, I beg of you again, please, continue to #StaySafeAndSane during these times.
Blessings.
