Yesterday I ventured into the hills on some business and ran into a bunch of little boy picking apples, our own Jamaican apples, on the side of a road.
I was fascinated to see what was left after they picked and eat, and so I made this short video :-)

... that Black River was the first town in Jamaica to have electricity?
It was supplied by the Leyden brothers in 1893.
The power was generated from a plant which had a huge furnace and boiler. Logwood, which was a major export of the parish, was used to generate steam from the engine which provided the power.
