Intro
Hi ,
I hope you are doing well today.

Welcome to another special (and still free) edition of my monthly newsletter!
There was so much happening in September!

But no worries,
I've pruned it to what I think you'll appreciate more.

You'll notice that I trumpeted the new "talk of the town" restaurant on Jamaica's south coast called Blue Waters Lounge, spoke about "the silly season", and also featured an article on Jamaican Rice & Peas.

And thanks to Janet, another ardent subscriber, we learned about ICARE's free eye examination program that is coming to sections of Jamaica in October.
We were happy to share that as well.

I've also featured a cheap hotel on Jamaica's south coast that I think you might like.

Ooops! I almost forgot!

By now you probably heard about Britain's Prime Minister's visit to Jamaica, right?
Yes, he came in today, and I have that too :-)

So I won't delay, but (as usual), let's start with our DID YOU KNOW...
Did You Know?
...that Jamaica was the first CARICOM country to liberalize the telecommunications sector?

Since then, other CARICOM countries have opened up to the competition and are doing very well.

The Silly Season Begins :-(
Yeah, that's exactly what we call it, the 'Silly Season'.

That's the period before a general election in Jamaica.

Typically, supporters from the two major political parties forget the realities and start pulling closer to their political interests, justifying or defending their political parties regardless of its performance.

The next election in Jamaica is constitutionally due next year, but there is great anticipation that it will be very early in the year.

Stay tuned.
