My-Island-Jamaica Digest Ezine: November 20, 2022 Hey , Happy Sunday to you and yours again my friend! Pride and patriotism aside, today I share with you our answer to a question we see popping up ever quite often. Its a question about migration, or more specifically, emigration.
The question is... 🤔 Why Do People Leave Jamaica? Yes, we have significant numbers of persons coming here, many coming to live/ retire and many more to vacation. In fact, according to the JTB, we typically have more visitors (4.3m) coming here annually than persons who live here (2.7mil)! But it is still a big concern! Some say the emigration is concentrated at a certain strata of society but it is still an issue for us. Of course, I have more for you! Here (as usual) are three (3) other great reads from this week: - Jamaican vs Haitian Culture

So you see we talk about the quality of our products many times, but not much about the topography of the island, the hills, mountains and valley, the rivers, waterfalls, etc. And the truth is, those also play a huge role in the vegetation and quality of our products. You just only need to think about Blue Mountain
Coffee and you get the idea. So today, I celebrate this aspect of our island, even while I continue to showcase the many amazing products we have here.
Yesterday, I had the pleasure and previledge to interview another giant in the herbal medicine space in Jamaica, Maline Stephen, albeit I had to go all the way in St. Mary. ☺ I won't say much except to say, it was a phenomenal exsperience and that you can expect another informative video coming out, so stay tuned. That said, I really want to thank her and her team for the hospitality and friendship displayed. Love and thanks family! Did you know...
... that Seville in St. Ann, was the first capital of Jamaica? This too, is yet another interesting fact from my 101 Intriguing Facts About Jamaica book.
As an ardent reader here for so long, I wanted to let you know that I'm doing some major work in the background on the website business - all with you and all my subscribers and readers in mind. It's early days so I won't say too much, but rest assured I'll be sharing further updates with you
