It was the recording of the video with the Rastafarian lady, but then on Thursday I got a call from Ms Junie (The Sapote Man) wife, offering me
Jackfruit - which I gladly accepted- really great folks!
Anyway I digressed, but I picked it up on Friday!
Here's a picture of it below, cut in half😋
We've been having it and can I tell you amazingly delicious it is?
And then I remembered how many of my readers, subscribers and diaspora people have been asking me about how to get fruits from here.... all kinds of them.
So today I highlight them, not just Jackfruit, but all the amazing fruits of Jamaica, native and exotic!
I missed the opportunity last week, but not today😀
Today I salute my ardent subscriber and now American friend, Brigid - you might have seen her in this video of the potter last week, yes her.
She's not the first visitor for me to take around, but definitely the first on any of my video trips, so today I big up you my friend, thanks again for the company and friendship!
Did you know...
...that it was on April 21, 1966 that His imperial Majesty, Haile Selassie I, Emperor of Ethiopia, visited Jamaica?
He came for a three day visit in which he addressed members of both houses of the Jamaican parliament, and at a special ceremony at the University of the West Indies, he received the honorary degree of Doctor of Laws.
This too, is yet another interesting fact from my 101 Intriguing Facts About Jamaica book.
In a few months, we'll be officially celebrating Jamaica 60 - our sixtieth anniversary of independence from Britain.
