Hola !
Happy Sunday to you and yours again my friend, hoping all is well.
I should tell you, that feature on Portland last week was a blast, several persons share an interest in it.
By the way, if you missed it, you can find it here as well:
But anyways, that inspired me to share yet another of Jamaica's hidden gem with you, and today I bring you to the place they said that Christopher Columbus first landed in Jamaica! It is Discovery Bay!
But what's the history? Although I gave a bit away a minute ago :-)
But what about its accommodation and top attractions?
I got you! Here now is the full article:
And yes, that's our featured article for this week!
You'll like it :-)
Do remember that I have several other new and insightful content on the website via the blog though, so please stop by and check them out.
And now, the...
In this episode, I ventured up the Black River - on the Black River Safari Wildlife and Adventure Tour!
Not only did we learn about the crocodiles and wildlife on the scenic Black River, we got to see the crocodiles - and touch them! An amazing experience, but not for the weak of heart!
And we had a bonus moment - when the tour guide KISSED the female crocodile! You have to see that to believe it!

Featured Jamaican Product
I recently learned of a story where a town in a particular state showcases old pit latrines as attractions, and I said 'what'?
I know perhaps it is more about the history and heritage, but seriously what's "attractive" about that?
I would just say they got creative using what they have.
But in Jamaica, just about everything here is an attraction - sea, beaches, rivers, mountains, hilltop views, caves, water falls, old forts, canons, art, drama, fauna and flora, culture - omg, you name it!
And so today, I highlight all these, bundled as JAMAICA ATTRACTIONS.
By the way, I do have an article on my website that features 142 destinations and attraction in Jamaica, by parish! If not yet done, you might want to take a look at it here.
Today I salute Mr. Charles Swaby, owner and proprietor of the Black River Safari for his invitation for us to visit his amazing attraction!
I learned a lot! Not only about the crocodiles in Jamaica, but also about the wetlands, flora and fauna in the area. It was an memorable experience!
Thanks again to him and his wonderful team!
Did you know...
... that Jamaica is the only country in the world that packs its coffee in barrels rather than burlap bags?
Well, that’s part of the nature of us, we had to be different :-)
This too, is yet another interesting fact from my 101 Intriguing Facts About Jamaica book.
Many of my viewers have asked me for a Part 2 of the Bird Sanctuary video, remember it? That's this one.
Well I'm just letting you know that I'm on it and it will be published soon.
And this time, it will be just the birds, no talk, no interviews :-)
So look forward to that!
So anyways, that's it for today, until next week, please #KeepSafeAndSane
