Happy Easter & Happy Easter Sunday to you ! 😊
Its indeed a special time for those of us, in Jamaica and around the world, who believe in the risen lord.
And by the way, you know that as Jamaicans, we do have our twist to everything - and Easter is no different.
Sure we are a potpourri of cultures - Africans, Europeans and Asians and so you'll surely see that reflected in our everything - food, worship, dance and yes celebrations.
So back to Easter...
What do Jamaicans typically do for Easter?
This insightful piece from Aneisha will interest you!
And whether you are a local needing a refresher, or a Jamaican enthusiast just learning Jamaican culture, you will surely find something intriguing here.
Grab your favorite beverage and take your most comfortable seat as you are in for a treat! In this fun Jamaican Easter special, two elders, Ms. Rose and Ms. Gloria, share their knowledge (and experiences) of Easter in Jamaica!

Featured Jamaican Product
Forgive me but I couldn't help it, this one had to be the feature for today, yes in line with the food and festivities, it is Jamaican bun and cheese!
Don't believe me? Just ask anyone you know from Jamaica, in the diaspora, or a regular here 😊
And soon, like Jamaican patties, the world will be clamoring for more bun and cheese. But where did this come from? This article explains.
On Good Friday morning, members of our church's welfare committee, cooked, packed and distributed lunches, along with hamper packages (with more food and toiletries) to several aged, disabled
and shut in community members.
It was a joy to see the glee on the faces of the recipients, I tell you, nothing is more rewarding that this!
And so, today I'd like to salute the members of the committee, some are subscribers right here on my newsletter, for this amazing display of love and benevolence.
Thanks you teamies!
Did you know...
... Jamaica has a total of ten (10) national holidays?
This includes four (4) Christian holidays - Ash Wednesday, Good Friday, Easter Monday, Christmas Day
And six (6) secular holidays - Labour Day, Independence Day, Emancipation Day, National Heroes Day, New Year's Day & Boxing Day.
This too, is yet another interesting fact from my 101 Intriguing Facts About Jamaica book.
Last week I asked the question about the timing of my weekly YouTube video premiere (Jamaica time). Well I believe I got the
answer.
72% said stay with the current 6pm
19% said go to 7pm
6% suggested 9pm &
3% indicated other.
And so the verdict is out! I'll continue with the 6pm!
Thanks again to all those who participated.
And that's it for today, thanks again for your valuable time😊
See you next week! In the meantime, please remember to #KeepSafeAndSane!
