My-Island-Jamaica Digest Ezine: march 27, 2022
Greetings and happy Sunday again to you and yours !
I have a special interview to share with you today, but first, I must apologize, I sincerely forgot to share the great news with you about the lifting of all the DRM (aka Covid19) restrictions.
Yes, the are all gone!
Today though, I'll share this special interview I had you during the week.
It was done by noted attorney at law and popular radio broadcaster, Clive Mullings, on The Hotline show.
They were having a special feature on Discovery Bay on what they call the #CrossCountryInvasion and figured that I'd be a good fit to speak about that town.
It was actually an impromptu meeting that...
- I didn't have much time to to prepare for (the producer and I confirmed I think the night before) and
- I had little idea on what to expect, except that it had something to do with Discovery Bay.
Anyways, I did it, and from all indication, it was well received, so I am humbled.
And so I share it with you (in video), the same raw file, no edits.
You'll likely learn a few new things about Discovery Bay as well.
I've also embedded it (below) for your convenience as well.
In this video I revisited the home of the (now famous) McKenzie's (Mr. Mack and his wife Ms. Junie).
They invited me back to come and spend some time there!
Interestingly, I didn't know what to expect initially, but it turn out to be an enthralling, insightful experience.
From drinking jelly coconut with them to picking Jamaican apples on the farm - it was awesome!
And there's even a bonus!🎁 I got to see the (now rare) Jamaican rose apple!
Grab your favorite beverage and get ready to enjoy the tour!
Here's the link (embedded below)
And if you like the video, please LIKE it, and if you love it, please SHARE it with a friend or family member, the more the merrier!

I reflect on that video above with Mr. Mack, yeah the farm tour with all those wasted fruits, and it reminded me, not just about the
abundance of fruits we have here in Jamaica, but also the demand for them!
Don't believe me since I live here?
Well just ask any visitor here or persons in the diaspora and they'll agree with me. The tech people will tell you that there is something about the soil here!
So yes, Jamaican fruits are a big seller all over North America, Canada and indeed the rest of the world.
Anyways, I thought I'd just share that with you.
Last weekend I had a wonderful time in Negril. In fact we ended up staying at two properties and loved them both!
Today I say thanks to my friends, Nickeisha (of Bambooze On The Rocks) and Maura (from Ivy's Cove) for helping to make that happen!
Thanks again wonderful ladies!
Did you know...
.. that it was on April 21, 1966 that His imperial Majesty, Haile Selassie I, Emperor of Ethiopia, visited Jamaica?
He came for a three day visit in which he addressed members of both houses of the Jamaican parliament, and at a special ceremony at the University of the West Indies, received the honorary degree of Doctor of Laws.
This too, is yet another interesting fact from my 101 Intriguing Facts About Jamaica book.
I had some email issues over the last few weeks (I noticed very late), and so I might have missed a number of emails from my
subscribers.
Good news! Its OK now, all sorted out - but please, if you sent me an email over the last few weeks and didn't get a response, kindly forward it back to me, chances are it didn't reach me, so please kindly forward and I'll address it.
And that's it for today my friend, until next week, please continue to #KeepSafeAndSane
